Our purpose

RodRookies publishes clear international fishing guidance that helps beginners understand water, equipment, technique, safety and responsible fish care.

Research standards

We prefer official manufacturers for specifications, official authorities for rules and safety, and established scientific or fisheries organisations for biology and conservation. Claims are updated when reliable information changes.

Product recommendations

We define the fishing need first, then compare compatible products. We explain who an item suits, important trade-offs and when a reader should choose something else. We do not claim to have personally tested a product unless that is true and described.

Independence and corrections

Affiliate revenue does not give retailers control over our conclusions. Material errors should be corrected openly and update dates changed when substantive revisions are made.

Authorship

Articles are currently prepared and maintained by RodRookies, an independent fishing project in the Netherlands. A named founder profile can be added when the owner chooses an appropriate public author name.

Responsible angling

Local law, access restrictions, safe handling and habitat protection take priority over catching or retaining fish. Our international guidance is educational and never replaces official local rules.
